What Is It, And Why Do I Need It?
Saliva testing is the most reliable way to measure free, “bioavailable” hormone activity– hormones actually doing their job at the cell level. These free, or unbound, hormones are what we want to measure, since they are available to the target tissues such as the breast, uterus, brain and skin. Most blood tests do not measure “bioavailable” hormone levels. Saliva testing also more accurately reflects hormone levels delivered via creams, gels or patches.
Saliva testing can identify hormonal imbalances that may be be causing unwanted symptoms and chronic health problems. It can also be used to monitor the effects of hormone replacement therapy. But most of all, it is a tool to help your physician and compounding pharmacist determine the best course of treatment.
Saliva collection is painless (no needles!) and is done in the privacy of your own home at your convenience.

When the results come back, we will contact you to go over the results, write a recommendation letter to your doctor and then prepare the hormones needed per your doctor’s prescription.
